Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 90 points

  • Nose is earthy with obvious whole cluster, cinnamon, clove and cherry jolly ranchers. Palate is structured. Only moderate tannin, but the acid and alcohol are both high. Alcohol is maybe too high and slightly out of balance. (Woh - it’s 14.4%!) Tart and tightly wound red fruit, green bell pepper and exotic spices. One could almost blind this as a cab franc. This wine needs time, at least another 3 years. An exotic and complex Pinot, but there is a little too much heat for my palate. Don’t open this yet… 90 today, but with upside assuming the fruit can one day balance the alcohol.
