Too bad it's past it's prime was prolly rockin 3 years ago. Has a bit of heat on the finish. I don't have many Farrell bottles left, I thought the Encounters were a a bit more age worhty. I really liked them back in the day when he was the head honcho. Still have an '04 left which I hope to be better.

Yes, the best years are well behind it now, but for the better part of the first hour, this still managed some good drinking. Medium-bodied, with aromas and flavors leaning heavily in the modestly-nuanced tertiary camp. Smoky berry, vanilla, blackberry, some prune. Drink this year.
Slow-O 2 hours, served non-blind.

Opened half hour before pouring. Still fresh, no hint of its age at all. Classic cabernet nose, somewhat reserved; oak stems, red and black fruits. Medium body with strong, fresh red fruits dancing across the palate. Clean finish with a nice acidity. Silky, long tannins just right at the finish. Timed it perfectly, could still wait for a short time longer

Nearing the end of its drinking window, drinking fine out of the bottle. It became raisin like by second day.
