A textbook Southern Rhone red. Pure and a bit restrained but if you like the appellation you won’t be disappointed. Ripe and dark, displaying classic bitter black currant notes, and after aeration a raisiny edge. Smooth and broad on the palate, the texture is refined, supported by well measured tannins – it has grip but still easy to drink. Not a showy one, but detailed and authentic, very nice for the category. Good, recommended. Drink now or to 2024.
