Strong sour ale, aged one year in used red wine barrels, 11% vol.
On the nose funky notes, apples and dried apricot, on the palate very high, mouth watering acidity, that is too much at first sip, but gets quite approachable after the palate has adapted to it, dense and incredibly concentrated and long.
Crazy and very unique, not sure if I could identify this as beer when tasting blind, I think I would have pointed to an amphora aged orange wine, nevertheless, it was really great with old hefty cheese and worth to make the experience with this. For sure it was not the last bottle of this I bought.

7/12/2023 - Skrutt (Formerly RotHead) Likes this wine:
It’s wonderfully fresh and shows a fine complexity that increases a bit with time in the glass. It doesn’t taste of alcohol at all.
Slightly oily in the mouth.
