Medium ruby with purple overtones. Aromatics medium +. A combination of dark red and blue fruits. Purple florals. All fresh. No oak influence Palette has a medium body. Acid medium +. Tannins medium + with fine to medium grain along the tongue. Alcohol medium. Dark cherry. Finish has a medium length. Perfectly balanced. Overall, for a relatively young Syrah this is a beautiful combination of acid and fruit. I'll hold my next bottle for some tertiary potentials overtime.

Drunk this several months back but apparently did not remove it from inventory. From memory, this is THE finest young California syrah I've ever had. Balanced, sophisticated--everything I could ask for. Time will be good to it but we even who prefer our wines well-aged found everything in this bottle now we could hope for. Immediately contacted the winery and became a customer.
This was decanted for a little over three hours. The nose is deep and savory with raspberries, dark, red cherries, fresh pick berries, violets, a touch of licorice, some black fruits, and crushed rock notes. The medium body field is polished and balanced with crisp, medium plus acidity and silky, medium tannins. The structure is still a little youthful but this will really develop over the next 3 to 5+ years. This is a lovely Sonoma coast syrah from Arnot-Roberts it does a great job, straddling the line between New World fruit and old world savoriness.

revisiting this wine after nine months, i would say this needs another couple of years still.

"rich purplish colour with appreciable body and a nose that has a somewhat subdued but lovely mix of red and black fruit along with clear floral notes. somewhat surprisingly fruit forward in the mouth, there is a firm tannic backbone for support. can't say that i was able to appreciate the nuances (time and taste saturation)"
well, i can start to taste some of the nuances already, but they quickly run into that still very stiff tannic backbone that cuts the experience (and finish) short.
the big upside potential of this remains undiminished.
