  • A lighter amarone with a beautifully complex nose. This bottle was decanted and opened up to reveal nice sandlewood/cedar like fragrances finishing with a touch of vanilla.

  • This is a slightly unusual Amarone. It has the expected deep deep dark brick red hue. The nose meets a muscular and enticing mix of soft leather, mint, saw dust and ripe blackberries, which is not surprising. What was a bit of a surprise was the relative lightness on the tongue and the lack of prominence of any mature fruit - that is not to say that the tongue did not find straightforward dry fruit (cherry and blackberry) notes with soft tannins. The finish was as complex as the nose and long and lingering. This is also a very food friendly wine.

  • I decanted for 8-hours. Beautiful, expressive nose, with chocolate, spice, rose petal, and mint. Long, long finish. What a wine! Wine of the night in our Italian Wine Explorer.

  • Translucent ruby color; nose of cherries, with hints of mince pie and smoke; pretty, fruity cherry vanilla flavors with a touch of spice; nice smooth finish with easy tannins and red cherries at the very end. Really delicious.
