  • This is always a wine I look forward to drinking each summer from one of the greatest producers in the south of France. Majority Mourvedre (which certainly comes across strongly) along with Grenache. Light onion skin colour as it sits in the glass. This is one of the most expressive rosés anywhere; dried herbs, crushed stone, yellow peach, raspberry, white pepper, strawberry, citrus and fresh flowers burst from the glass. The palate is broad and sumptuously textured but still refined with precise acidity, sweet fruits and plenty of peppery, earthy notes. It finishes long and a little grippy. It goes without saying that it cries out for food and will be amazingly versatile on the dinner table - roast chicken would be a perfect match. Still pretty youthful, it's got at least another 1-2 years in its prime. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
