Relative to the Beaucastel 2016 I tasted a few days ago, this is a lesser CDP. But it’s half the price so it definitely has value going for it. This is mostly grenache (80%), and very full bodied. Fruit and red licorice on the pretty nose. The palate is concentrated black fruit with elements of cocoa, loam and sanguine minerality. Medium finish. This will get better with further aging, but it’s very approachable right now.

Flowers, black cherries, black raspberries, and plums produce the nose. Soft, lush and creamy on the palate, the wine has polish, vibrancy and freshness from start to finish. The wine was produced blending 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah. Drink from 2023-2035.

Fresh, soft and very fruity. Enjoyable now but I think there is significant upside with age.
