  • This was the last bottle in the trio of wines that I opened and enjoyed over a five day period. This was the only wine that I feel like needed to be open longer to really show itself. On day five, I honestly should have put the cork back in and come back to it after another five days.
On day one this was extremely tightly wound and initially showed a bit of Mosel funk that blew off to expose a core of pure electricity. The tart fruit on the lean and super racy frame finally relented to show delicious ginger infused Meyer lemon and tons of minerality.
Opening this back up on day five showed a wine that was still a complete razor blade of citrus and acid but with an edge of sweetness that has started to peak out. The minerality was the star of show and I can’t remember a wine that was saltier. Just an unbelievable amount of salinity and reminded me of drinking fresh squeezed lemon juice from a salted rimmed glass.
This wine NEEDS time. I really wish I would have given it another 5 days to see where it went. I have a strong suspicion that it would have been fantastic.
