Blind tasted as part of the Introductory Sommelier panel of wines, shipped in a 187 ml screw cap. Lemon, petrol, acid made me think German / Alsatian Riesling. After being opened for 10 minutes, the fruit dissipates and the acid and body stand out with a touch of oiliness and glycerin. Medium plus acidity and body. Very enjoyable. Some residual sugar is perceivable, maybe 5 or more gm/L.

From the Loire Valley area of Touraine comes the 2021 Sauvion Vouvray. Clear and medium straw yellow, this young wine shows limited viscosity as the tears fall quickly down the glass. Aromas of pear and yellow apple can be coaxed from the glass with skittish minerality. The wine is sweet with medium acidity without any hints of bitterness or tannin. On the tongue, the flavors dance with bright notes of apple and pear but showing good balance without being sharp. There’s a medium weight to this wine as some flavor of honey displays on the early finish. The finish is shorter but very pleasant.

Off dry, medium viscosity with melon, nectarine, golden apple and good but not quite enough acidity. Always a dependable wine.
