Extraordinary wine. This arrived in Miami via Peru. It was a gift from someone in Lima who had been to Mendoza (AR). Amazing concentration without the burden of all the oak that typically saturates so many California wines. If someone had asked me what it is in a blind tasting, I would have said a high-end CdP such as Janasse XXL or Pegau Da Capo, with the extra sweetness that those wines have compared to their other bottlings. I would have added that it spent time in concrete vats, which it did not, though it benefitted from appassimento. The 16.3% alcohol is hardly noticeable. Price would be around $100, but it's only available at the winery.
