  • This is a blend of 85% Syrah, 10% Grenache and 5% Mourvedre with vine ages ranging from 11 to 27 years old grown between 60-120m elevation.

    Colour: Full, clear, dark purple

Nose: Medium+ intensity, notes of black plums, black cherries, black pepper, fresh sage, tumeric, light vanilla and oakspice

Palate: Medium body, medium+ alcohol, medium+ acidity, dry, medium- tannin, fruit notes from nose confirmed, less prominent spices, herbs and pepper, some inkiness and black olive skins

Finish: Medium length with lingering fruit and pepper

The nose on this wine screamed amazing but sadly the palate feels quite disjointed. Even at 14.5% ABV this does not drink anywhere close to the ABV and the Syrah sadly feels quite muted and not overly characteristic despite taking up the vast majority of the blend. I'm a bit let down by this wine, there's some complexity but the greenness takes away from the freshness and drinkability of this wine to its detriment. What a shame.
