Beautiful label, bad vintage. The wine has an expressive and immediately captivating nose with tertiary aromas of wet forest floor and dark fruit dominating, a little green streak. On the palate the taninns are resolved but there is still some rusticity and greenness left, pronounced acidity as well. It is drinkable but not really Grand Cru, due to a lack of caressing pleasure. Make sure you have a rich dish to go with. Nose 95, Palate 89

The low CT scores don't justify for this 1991 vintage. To me, it’s drinking at its best now. Did not decant, pop and pour. Pronounced nose intensity with notes of mushroom, charr wood, smoke, spices, ripe blackfruits. Well aged wine. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin.

Out of .375. Still a powerful wine at 30 years old. Classic mature Claret notes--tobacco, graphite, bell pepper. Full-bodied with plenty of verve left on the palate and a bit of tannic heft.
First time with a first growth so no real basis for comparison. But this was a fine example from a tough vintage. At peak or just past it.

Wow !
