  • simple burg tasting of stone, white fruits and grapefruit, slight butter. unusually light oak treatment left a very round and light touch on mid and finish - not unpleasant but very easy on palate.

  • Dinner at Buko Nero (Buko Nero, Singapore): I thought this was really quite good. Tight on the nose at first, opening very nicely to show peach, apple, earthy, button mushroomy notes, a little flower, a little honey and a lot of minerality. Palate was rich and rather buttery, with a nice lift added by ripe lemons and grapefruit flavours, along with plenty red apples at the rear. Nice and round, and yet with a nice precise linearity, and lots of stony, gunflinty mineral flowing along just underneath the fruit. Lacks any great depth or layering on the mid-palate, but still had enough stuffing to make me guess that it may be a Criots-Batard. Finish was quite beautiful too. Glorious length, lovely integration, with hazlenuts, mineral, spice and vanilla winding up in a surprisingly powerful tail. I liked the light oak treatment here and there to. It added interest without distracting from the wine's great lightness and sense of elegance. Very good.

  • Friday Night (Buko Nero): Wispy smoke , minerals and stony . Clean linear and pure white fruits delicately presented . Not overly oaked. Some spice, some white florals. Grapefruits on the finish. Really not too bad. Just a tad of vanilla butter .
