A world class SB. SB is not my favorite varietal, but don't tell my beautiful friend, Pam Starr.
Lime zest. Passion fruit. Star fruit. Fresh mowed spring grass aroma. .Powefull acidity. Loved it with Cornish game hen marinated in tarragon. Olive oil. White wine vinegar. Black pepper

Blind Tasting of Syrah vs Cab: We did a blind tasting of three Syrahs vs 3 Cabs. Age and locations of everything was a little different.
The night started as people arrived with a glass of Flor.
A little grassy on the nose; faint hints of cat urine for some. But it was not bad. Good acidity and crispness. Stone fruits on the palate - peach and apricot. My wife did not get the cat urine but one other friend did. Others got hints of lemon.
It was a nice wine and a good start to the evening.

Has that beautiful Ballard Canyon SB note to it. 1/3 new 1/3 neutral 1/3 stainless. And salty and savory on the palate in a wonderful way. Lots of dry extract, really darn delicious.
