Nice balance of New World and Old World attributes, especially for a CA Sangiovese; good fruit without being syrupy, excellent colour, good tannins. Ready to drink now.

Sturdy, and somewhat old-world in style, this offers notes of dried tobacco, black cherry and damp leaves. Firm and quite dry on the palate with astringent, but fairly well integrated tannins, and a nice balance between fruit and earth flavors. Short finish.

Dark. Very ripe and spicy pepper aroma with some nice varietal character. A big, forward wine with richness and balance. Not CC but very good in a full-throttle California way. I have followed this for a few vintages and I am always impressed. One of the best from California. Very good at the table and overall. Some potential but delicious now.
