Bright and invigorating are not words I usually associate with Cabernet Sauvignon, but they apply here. I might have thought there was a notable dash of Zinfandel in there to provide acidic zip, but the flavors were full Cabernet. The freshness made it easier to drink in quantity than most California Cabs, but I do need to get up for work tomorrow! Fun to drink now, and I might move to drink up while it’s in this enticing phase.

Focused black raspberry, red cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, smoke, menthol, earth, and herbs on the nose. Red cherries, boysenberries, earth, plums, spices, herbs, and a little citrus rind on the palate. Shows a bit of spicy heat and a little bitterness on the finish. Concentrated, focused, and very interesting. I haven't decided if I like this wine that much at this point, though it's quite a fun experience.

decanted 2.5 hrs. bing cherries, tea, eucalyptus, tobacco and citrus rind on the nose. medium bodied with some glycerin but stylistically more "elegant." the fruit taste is pure and intense- mostly cherries and red currants, with smoky minerals. the finish is quite spicy. saved a glass for the next day, it had put on weight, integrated the oak and darkened in fruit profile. i would hold this, think that there's complexity to come
