1/3. 7.5% abv. AP 111. I needn't have been so cautious to open this. It's rid of any marks of yeast and sulfur. There's even a little open ended travel offered between its joists, of mineral and acid. Flavors arrive immediately of fresh, green and yellow pulp. (I appreciate the confident refusal to taste like pineapple even as it mocks the lifecycle.) Petrichor turns incipient petrol. Breezy, bay leaf, sand, salt, lime and rose. Sugar sensations practically vacate with adjustment, leaving something surprisingly dry, tonic, and crushable. Am I any closer to timing the remaining two bottles? Ha.

Riesling Study Night #2 (1/21/23): Sweet yellow citrus and stone fruit, with a racy amount of acidity to balance. Sweetened meyer lemons, with wet slate minerality and slight saline freshness. Quite tasty, but the Lambertskirch eeks out ahead with more complexity today. 92-93, with upside.

Lots of sulfur on day 1, but the underlying acid and minerality make it so enjoyable to drink. After a few days in the fridge, the sulfur is totally gone and it’s just pure Riesling rock lemonade. I feel like the distinctive minerality reminds me of the GG but that’s probably mostly confirmation bias.

Delicious. Racing acidity gives this an almost dry tasting profile while the fruit is beautifully delineated. Sour green apples and lemon.
