  • Very pale yellow, almost watery appearance in the glass. Subtle green apples on the nose. Medium bodied, dry and crisp, rather tight, delivering subtle green apples and a lemony hint with good acidity. Nice firm and poised style.

  • A blend of Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier. 12,5% alcohol, 2 g/l residual sugar and 5,4 g/l acidity. Tasted blind.

Youthful lime-green color. The nose feels very young and primary with pretty linear aromas of sour apple candies, some pear drops, a little bit of grapey fruit and light floral tones. The wine is youthful, dry and very fruit-forward on the palate with a medium body and quite linear flavors of tart Granny Smith apples and key lime, some pear drops, a little bit of steely minerality, light grapey tones and a hint of salinity. The high acidity keeps the wine balanced and structured. The medium-long finish is crisp, light and quite acid-driven with a fruit-driven aftertaste of primary grapey fruit, some sour apple candy notes, a little bit of lemony citrus fruits and a hint of salinity.

A very generic white wine that could be from anywhere. The wine was all about those candied, anonymous fermentation flavors, so it was impossible to tell whether the wine came from Australia, Europe, South Africa or the US. Can't really say the wine was particularly typical of these white Southern Rhône varieties, because I thought the wine felt more like an Italian Pinot Grigio. In all likelihood the wine will turn interesting with age, as the candied primary notes disappear, but with a screwcap, it's going to take some time. At the moment I really can't say the wine was worth the 14,99€, but maybe things'll turn different as the wine gets age.
