  • A blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre sourced from all three wineries of Domaines Ott.
I’m not a big fan of rosé wines and I’m usually just drinking them during the daytime while on vacation. But this one is a little bit different.
The color shows a bit more copper than the regular rosè wines from Ott. The nose is quite shy, with some red berries and a very soft herbal touch. The palate is different, more direct, with nice red fruits like strawberries, young raspberries, some peach, ripe yellow melon and quince. In the background some nice green herbal notes. It’s still quite elegant and the fruit doesn’t feel too dominant. The high alcohol (14%) is perfectly integrated. An amazing fruit structure, especially for a rosé wine. Very good complexity and a beautiful overall balance. The finish is long, fresh and seductive.
It’s not cheap but it’s worth it. An amazing rosé, maybe the best I ever had. It’s very enjoyable now and it’s hard for me to estimate how this will evolve over time. The winery says that it has some aging potential. I’m sure it will easily last the next couple of years but I don’t think it’s made for the long run. (IG)

  • Very aromatic, showing fresh red fruit, marine aromas, some herbaceousness. Palate very concentrated, alcohol well-handled. Much more fresh cranberry and strawberry than showed on nose. Very long. M+ acidity.
