Text-book New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, the 2022 Te Mata delivers pungent grapefruit and herbs without becoming candied or phenolic. Silky and energetic, with a salty mineral core and ripe citrus fruit to balance, this is a total pleasure on the palate. It leaves a cheek-puckering twang that keeps the taster looking back to the glass, finishing fresh, vibrant and cooling the senses. I wouldn't rush out for another bottle, but I would know that this would put a smile on the faces of just about everyone at a summer BBQ.

Lots of flint and grapefruit. It’s a big wine, in its own way, not subtle, but enjoyably youthful.
