13.9% abv. Screw cap. Blinded on a couple of family members. One guess was Sangio from Tuscany, the other guessed cool climate California Cab Franc. Not bad. Indeed, this showed abundant acidity with medium body, a little dusty note, some slightly herbal character. I really enjoyed this on its own, but this is also a good candidate for a variety of fare, like pasta or hearty meat dishes.

Nose: cherry, raspberries, smoke, leather, bell pepper. Palate: a little more enjoyable than I remember. Lots of cherry, refreshing, light body, some oak, tobacco, seems hot, pepper and earth.

Still seems primary at this stage. An interesting and pleasing red at a good price for the quality.
