  • I figured the 20 durant would be a huge step above the 20 WV. However, it was only slightly better than the 20 WV which isn't all that good to be fair. Decent wine, but the 20 WV and Durant are definitely my least favorite wines from Goodfellow.

  • I last had a bottle of this about eight months ago, and there are similarities and differences today from that earlier bottle. The wine still shows tart white fruit on the palate and saline notes on the nose, but I compared this to a Chablis in December and I probably wouldn’t do that today. This has fleshed out a bit in the intervening months, although it’s still pretty tasty.

  • I think Bob said this extremely well. Chalk oyster shell and citrus more than orchard fruit. This is less fruit and floral driven than other vintages of the Durant I have tried. It's detailed and focused yet lacking tension and the depth of better vintages. Some lemon curd, lovely acid balance and a mineral stone backbone. Quite good with more of a saline- oyster shell mineral edge than most years. As Bob said this is Chablis like when I think this bottling tends to usually be more St Aubin like. Very well done. An excellent 2020. 90

  • My first time trying the new vintage - to me, the nose is reminiscent of Chablis, with almost a sea breeze scent. Saline notes as well.

Good acidity on the palate, with tart white fruit. We obviously didn’t get a lot of choices from our favorite producers in this vintage due to the outbreak of wild fires, but this is nice, and will help to “fill the bill” until the ‘21 vintage is released.
