  • Purple-red in the centre with a brick-red rim. Still red fruits on the nose. Cherry, dried red plum. Dried herbs, also a touch balsamic. Vanilla and wood sweetness tell of the maturation in barrel. In addition to the not so intense fruit flavours, I find tertiary notes of autumn leaves. Juicy on the palate with a medium body, silky tannins and medium acidity. Sour cherry and raspberry flavours. Somewhat thin and short on the finish, a little blood orange. Still very enjoyable, but on the decline. Drink up soon. [First published on DMueller.com.]

  • Ruby colour. Lots of Blackcurrant and ripe blueberry aromas with a hint of cedar. Medium bodied and smooth with balanced fruit and acidity and ripe tannins. Medium, slightly bitter, finish. Drinking very balanced right now. Drink now - 2011.

Fruity, balanced and smooth Rosso di Montepulciano that I could easily have mistaken for a Chianti.........
