An honest, very simple Chenin Blanc at a low-ish price (£7.50) (but 25% less when on offer at Tesco). Very dry with apple and citrus fruit and lots of acidity. It was good early on as an accompaniment to fish and chips on a Friday night but not too good on its own later when the acidity was prominent and a ‘cucumber’ taste developed. 86 with food but less on its own. Compromise 84-85.

Contracted producer/winery for the 2022 vintage: Stellenrust Winery.
South African W.O. Stellenbosch
N....almost nothing.
C....pale straw
T....a tad insipid, no intensity; some yellow/white stone fruit, there's enough - but not especially interesting - acidity; a pleasent crispness, it's a good party wine. Flavours are a bit short. There is some mineral profile. It is near-dry on the scale.
VFMoney?....feels worth £12.00, costs only £7.50 so pretty much a bargain party wine.
