  • Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Gevrey Chambertin (Rodwell House): 50 yr old vines; A light to medium bright crimson colour. This has gorgeous tertiary mushroom notes along with rosehip, spice and cinnamon.
A delicate entry, the wine is fresh, medium-bodied and has a savoury streak, along with 70% Lindt chocolate towards milk chocolate, crushed stones and fennel fronds. The texture is mineral-edged and grippy, whilst the wine is masculine in structure with savoury and slightly grippy tannins accentuated by the stony mineral quality. It draws your breath like a Barolo and is filled with black fruits, nuts, marmite and roses. Medium length this is a good example without having the bells and whistles of a top cru. Touch warming on the finish.
