My experience with this wine is very different after decanting it after first taste. Initial impressions are pretty much the same -- there's some real funk there that needs to blow off. And I still don't love the nose, even later; it smells a bit overripe. But the palate is absolutely fascinating after some air: dried cranberries, cherries, and figs; some of my favorite flavors in dry wines. And later, I even get some saline characteristics that are an amazing counterpoint to the fruit flavors. Just need to get past that nose. Overall, though, my impression this time is one of a fascinating and attention-worthy wine. Sad that this is my last bottle.

Very curious. The nose smells a bit pruny and overripe to me, but the palate, though a bit hot, is nice, with a soft, velvety texture, dried cranberry and dried cherry flavors, and a nice snappy finish. Still, it's hard not to consider this wine flawed. No idea what it tasted like 10 years ago, but I'm...very curious.

I don't really know what this wine is...but after 6 hours in the decanter....it was awesome.. Layers of dark fruit, tasted like Grenache but who knows....really spectacular.

Great nose, somewhat like mature port. Initially bold on the palate, but it goes into wonderful, balanced complexity.
