I'm a fan of this producer, so thought I'd try the high end, oaked version. Not surprisingly for my taste, I like this less well than the regular old vines cuvee. It's quite ripe, and quite oaked. Good acidity, in the mold of Sauv Blanc but different profile. This cuvee speaks more to me of California than Spain, though certainly worth drinking.

Afternoon of wine, oysters and cheese with Mark and Erin. Lovely wine. Pale color. Closed initially. Opens with lovely complexity. Barrel nots with citrus, white stone and a mineral note. Layered. Palate is fresh, tight with good weight. Structured. Should age gracefully.
