  • Well worth the wait! The cork broke but was dry at the top, no damage to the wine; we decanted through a coffee filter. (This is the second 15+ year old Sinskey wine I've opened in recent months where the cork broke.) Nice, if light, nose. Lots of bright fruit still evident, very smooth tannins. Just terrific.

  • This wine is showing absolutely beautifully right now. It was difficult to open (cork broke upon opening!) and we decanted through a filter funnel, but the juice was top notch.
Nose was powerful, really dark and heavy. However, no distinct aromas were discernible.
In the mouth - nice, elegant fruit (plums, olive, licorice?). Also nice minerally tannins on the middle-to-end of the flavor arc. Very well balanced with a medium-long finish.

  • Restrained on the nose, the first taste imparts nice fruit paired with some earth and wood smoke, all carried along by a creamy, silky texture that I found to be the wine's best quality. The finish was a bit too hot and tannic making me wonder if this 2004 actually needs a bit more time to hit its peak or if the restrained fruit will just never find balance with the wine's backbone. Overall, this was decent, fine, enjoyable, but never outstanding and I was hoping for more given the $$.

  • Silky smooth taste to this one. Definite notes of fruit but a very strong smokey/wood nose that also shows up on the finish. Tannins are very well balanced and not overpowering in the least. If you can get these in the $50 range I really think it's a good buy. Very enjoyable Cab.

  • I thought this was a very nice bottle of wine for $45. It had a great nose of oak, dark fruit and some chocolate. The midpalet was very enjoyable and the fruit was full and the tannins were well balance. Wish I had a couple more.
