Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • I wanted to like this wine. I usually really like Beaujolais, but I couldn't wrap my taste buds around this one.

I suspect this bottle may have been tainted. It had an off smell, but not the usual wet dog, or wet cardboard. More of a sour smell among the usual red fruit we get from gamay, mixed with some odd funk.

And while the usual gamay red fruit flavors were there, as well. But right along with it was a weird sour flavor, as if raspberries were in there, but well past their ripeness.

Not sure I want to try this wine again, but hoping other people have better luck with it then I did. I ended up pouring most of it down the sink. I wouldnt even have cooked with it, as I might for a red past it's prime.
