  To say I was excited to open this would be a serious understatement. The wines made by Carsten are pure, beautiful, and such a wonderful expression of the place from which they are from. I love his Silvaner Alte Reben and was really looking forward to trying this one.
  This right away shows that it is a very serious bottle of wine. There is something texture and a touch of inner sweetness of fruit that reminds me of great Chardonnay. I decanted this wine and I think it really benefited from the air becoming more and more pure as it opened up. The initial weight and the of the wine subsided to show something beautifully balanced and that pure mineral water element that I find in the core of each of his wines.
  Delicious notes of Meyer lemon, Bosc pear and a hint of spice leads you into a long tangy finish of candied citrus. What is so striking is the fact that this is so deeply mineral and transparent. A wine of soul and will certainly reward I a big way after some more time in the cellar.
