The bottle I had was with the black label as on the website. It was really poor with way too much citrus acidity. Barely recognizable as chardonnay and does not even hold a candle to the excellent 2017. Bearing in mind the price it is a very poor effort that will unlikely improve. Colour of a Vinho Verde at best.

Oooh this is superb, in a lean Chablis-esque style - different to some previous opulent vintages - but no shortage of ripe fruit. Currently very green apple but there's a hint of tropical fruit I often find in this wine. Oak very much in the background. Good now, I think this could be sensational.

Limes and tropical fruit, racy acidity, nice nutty/ toasty oak. Lower alcohol than some previous vintages, around 12.5%. Very fresh, zingy acidity but plenty of ripeness too. Young but already impressive.

English wine event at 67 Pall Mall. Ripe fruit on the nose, peaches and apples. Crisp but opulent fruit and then layers of beautifully judged oak, nutty and toasty, Savoury and well balanced. Tried this next to the 2011 and you can see the family resemblance. I think this should age beautifully.
