Bottle 1313g. VdF, not CdR, Counoise. Pale red with a mauve tint, not much darker than Tavel, but more blue. Moderately intense aromas, tart red berries and sweet spice. Dry, with moderate to elevated tingly acidity, moderate grippy tannins and a little phenolic bitterness, medium-bodied, 13.5% abv. Saline finish. Rep at Guigal told us in October they'd recently planted a new vineyard with this variety; I suspect the southern Rhône's future will depend on these "minor" varieties.
