  • Flower Day - Barely translucent dark cherry core which extends almost to the watery rim. Thin and quick legs with small cathedral arches. The nose is primarily dark fruit (blackberry and plum) with blueberry, some strawberry and black licorice along with some smoke and a bit of damp earth. On the palate it’s smooth and very soft with the dark and blue fruit first and foremost. The longer you hold it in your mouth the more the tannins make themselves evident. It seems very primary to me - just gobs of fruit with a bit of structure. The finish is short with little expression of any sense of place or character. It’s a clean, straightforward but currently simple wine. Very enjoyable but not exciting and I don’t get the feeling it will develop into anything. Seems like you’re paying for the place name instead of the wine quality.

  • Was initially very tight and I even thought it might be corked.

Eventually opened up. Beautiful bouquet of red fruit. But felt a bit one dimensional. Maybe it was corked. I have another bottle that I will try and report back.
