Monday Night Festive Blinds (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Served blind. On the nose - cats pee? Gooseberry? It's not a super obvious Sauv Blanc but there's something about it there...on the palate - good grief the acid, but also a floral note - if not Sauv Blanc then what? Muscadet? A weird unripe gewurtz? Revealed as the renowned Devon Minnow - I'm not going to say the emperor has no clothes but this did not speak to me. Better palates than mine disagree but. No.

BWCCC Cycling Planning Meeting (Hawksmoor, Guildhall): Exotic pea shoot, gooseberry, grassy, asparagus, elderflower nose with little hint of spritz. Palate is crisp and refreshing. A little whiff of launderette and torn tarragon leaf on the nose. Interesting and well made without being outstanding.

Pale yellow straw. Fabulous nose: packed full of white flowers, citrus blossom, apple blossom, honeysuckle and pea shoots. Such a glorious nose, that you just want to carry on sniffing it, in case the palate doesn't live up to the nose. Just remarkable. But you needn't worry. This is lovely in the mouth too. Maybe not quite as remarkable as the nose, but, gosh, it's good. Very delicate, reminiscent of the thinnest sheet of glass you could imagine. But then, alongside that freshness and elegance, it's remarkably mouthfilling, with a creamy, silky mouthfeel. Fascinating wine. And it's only 11.5% abv.
Bottle 191 of 200.

Pale lemon with nose of lemon, lime, grass, apple, blossom & smoke. Strong acidity with nice mouthfeel/weight. More lemon, lime, apple, pear, blossom and grass on the palate. Fresh with nice finish too. Very good indeed and a different take on bacchus..

Very, very pale straw. Gloriously fragrant nose. Peas, honeysuckle, apple, and every sort of citrus blossom you can think of. There's a creamy note too, as well as a touch of buttered toast. Remarkable palate. Very mouthfilling, and feeling very ripe. Lots of floral notes - very fine and delicate, giving an almost lace-like impression, which integrates to a lovely silky mouthfeel on the finish. Delicious and fascinating. Not sure if this is the first oak-influenced bacchus I've had, but this is a wine that certainly takes the Bacchus grape to the next level. And it's only 11.5% abv too!
