Aromas of dark plum and bacon fat. Aromas also include some brown sugar. No acidic imbalance at all. Very smooth. Decent finish. This wine paired very well with lamb chops.

Deep red-purple. Blueberry, pepper, crushed rock nose. Blueberry, blackberry, chalk, white pepper. VERY long finish of pepper and fruit, tannins mostly resolved and acid still pleasantly vibrant. Delicious.

We had the 04 Kimberleys and the 04 Reed's along side each other with lamb chops for easter dinner. The Kimberleys was very masculine with bloody meats whereas the Reeds was chock full o blueberries and a finish for days. Both wines went well and were great examples of how syrah can contrast given the terroir. Posting this same note for the Reed's.
i didnt blend the two, but I liked the meats of Kimberley with the finish of Reeds.

Great Syrah aromatics. Smoke and boisterous berries. The palate is typically Cabot, sleek, with excellent acidity. Fairly lean, but there is still plenty of fresh, tart, red fruit to balance against the more savory aspect of the wine. Really terrific with braised short ribs. A bit less interesting on its own after dinner.
