Bordeaux 2004 20 years on Part 2 (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Fine mousse, fine bubbles, apple on the nose, and then very pleasant fizzy lemon and biscuit notes. If I was asked what champagne was like I would present this, it's a hugely dependable cuvée. First I've tried of the 244, having been through some 242 and 243. This probably needs a little more time (2019 base) to really get going but there is nothing stopping you drinking it now if you've run out of the others.

Jonathan's 2004 Bordeaux Check In (Hawksmoor Guildhall, London, UK): First sampling of this relatively recently released bottling. Palate has lemon sherbet with some chamomile notes, a touch of minerality and just a lick of quinine bitterness. Palate needs a little time to knit together, real potential here just in need of some post disgorgement bottle time.

What a crisp, refreshing enjoyable champagne. On the nose lots of yeast, brioche, minerals and some honey like aroma. On the palate it has a lemon, brioche and almost a yogurt like note. Afterwards you’re left with a very pleasant apple taste on your palate. Highly recommend. Bubbles are not too aggressive and help round out the wine

Well balanced, brioche, pear and chalky citrus with a few darker undertones of toffee and mushrooms. Develops with some time in the glass. Great value.

I did not spend much time on this one but I was pleasantly surprised. Would buy.
