Ripe, rich fruit on the nose and palate, with charcoal, cocoa, dark berries. Reminiscent of petit verdot despite the cab/merlot blend. Definitely a young wine, it was bordering at times on astringent. Mouthcoating, velvety, supple mouthfeel with a lengthy finish. Suspect the fruits will mellow some with time and allow more to come to the surface, but drinking now as a big, rich, complex, and delicious wine. Glad I have five more to see where this goes, will probably wait a few years to open the next one.

Fantastic blend and I should have bought more. Deep red color, medium weight and the tannins are present but not overwhelming. Finish is almost 40 seconds. Floral notes and cocoa on back end after dark red fruits come through

This wine had just been made available to the mailing list and they were gracious enough to open up this and the new white experiment wines. This wine was a cabernet sauvignon and merlot blend. I absolutely loved this experiment. The nose had a bright blue fruit and some cassis. the taste palate was like the blend of the perfect howell mountain merlot and cabernet sauvignon and the wine was obviously sourced far away from the tragic fires. Ovid wines are the wines that I love to contemplate each sip. They are just works of art. This wine was no exception. I was stunned at how easily this wine opened up. The liveliness and clarity of the blue fruits, spices and cocoa notes were carried seamlessly on silky tannins for a long taste profile. I look forward to seeing how this wine ages. I figure I will give this wine several years in the cellar and open one up every two years.
