Ripe red fruit on the nose with some toast oak as well. There is a hint of spice and some blue fruit as well but its not overly expressive on the aromatics. Nice full body, med- acid, med+ tannin. It's fairly powerful but enough acidic lift keeps it in check. There is some density here that will unfurl with air. This is a nice well made NV Cab without massive oak or sweetness like many out there. Well done!

A Morning at AXR: the napa valley designate cabernet is delicious on its own, with a mix of black and red fruits, mostly black cherry and blackberries with notes of red raspberries, chocolate, cloves and wild fennel. moderate body and length, nicely balanced. Drying tannins on the finish coat the gums. I also picked up some strawberry on the nose. small amounts of merlot, cab franc and petit verdot. New oak is limited to about 50%, I believe. It is just not in the same league as the single vineyard designates.
The grapes for this wine come mostly from vineyards in Coombsville and Furtado (stage leap district).
