  • From a, small 1.1 ha vineyard planted with old Grenache bush vines. 4,638 bottles produced. Good red and blue fruit, red cherry, blueberry, spices, earth, some coffee, spices, light vanilla, and gravelly minerality, with fresh, medium-plus acidity, fine, firm, well-integrated tannin, and very good length. The wine was smoothly textured and well balanced except for warming alcohol on day one. On day two, the wine was equally balanced and the alcohol was integrated better, only now the tannin and finish were lightly drying. In summary, this skillfully made Grenache wine is defined by its great purity of fruit, and good concentration, with fine tannin and very goof persistence. To my surprise it paired well with high-class dark chocolate. The wine is very young and primary. You can drink it now for its fruit, but I would hold for 5+ years to see what else the wine holds in store. 91(+)(?)
