-- decanted for 90 min. before tasting -- -- tasted non-blind over 1 hour --
NOSE: moderately alcoholic, with oak and cherry; very raisiny; hint of maple in the background; little to no minerality.
BODY: clear, garnet color with a slight orange haze throughout; color is of medium depth; medium bodied.
TASTE: Flavors of baked red fruits, heavy cedar, and oak dominate this tannic wine; secondary flavors of plum and McIntosh apple come forward on the medium length finish (30-35 sec.); the palate is full, but somewhat disjointed; doesn't taste funky at all; drink over next 3 or 4 years. Ashley liked this a lot more than I did.
Aromas of perfumy fruit are balanced against some nice Grenache spice on the nose. The rustic palate features raspberry flavors. Medium-bodied. This was Ashley’s favorite of the tasting. Bottle was opened the previous day.
Tasted in the tasting room and then tried a bottle at home. Solid ruby red color. Nose is mineral and plums, raspberries, blackberries. Palate is fruit forward, with raspberries and plums and a good bit of minerals, but not candied. Noticable tannins. Mildly acidic on the finish. High alcohol (14.9%), but tastes less than that. An enjoyable wine and I plan to buy more.

Smokey. Nice acid. Fruit is weak probably cause it's over the hill.
