Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • lovely rich burgundy color...first nose just soars, with ripe black and red fruit and the beginnings of forest floor, and even come complexity, though no layering. the palate, though showing good quality components and balance, and a bright acid spine of the mid-palate and finish, and moderate retro-olfaction doesn't live up to the 'advertising.' over time, the wine gives up less and less, though 'extreme coaxing' brings out some lovely fruit on the attack. Sadly, I am concluding that the wine is shut down, unless it comes back to life in an hour or so, or perhaps tomorrow...

Note: purchased at the domaine a few years ago - Jacques Marchand had no importer at the time, so his wines are most likely not available stateside, at least not this vintage...
