  Boy, do you get a lot of wine for your dollars! The Dukes family are really in a run of form, even by their own high standards and this vintage seems to have been especially kind for them - their Rebus Cabernet has swept the shows in Oz and it is not a lot more dollars than this wine.
  
  I don't want to over-egg the sauce, here. At this price point you don't get wines that are truly outstanding once you apply the magnifying glass. However, this sat very snugly against a 2010 d'Issan and although it was not quite as good as, it was tight and if money was tight, I really don't think you are missing out with this.
  
  Colour is very deep purple-red. The nose is coal dust, pencil shavings, cedar and lovely mulberry fruit. The intensity is Nugent like, finish is very long and tannins are supportive but not assertive and there is no hint of green tannins. Whitesnake's 'Ready 'n' Willing' is the comparison, where everything really rocks out, the quality of the components is first rate and it puts a smile on your dial. Is it 'Machine Head' or 'Burn' or "Rainbow Rising'? No, but it is so damned close there are moments you do wonder.
