Very fruit forward, complex red fruits, herbs, low-med acidity and short finish, but none the less very enjoyable. Despite it says 18 or 20% Cab Franc, the herbal component is quite noticable, but in a good way.

Opaque purple ruby. Gorgeous, elegant nose of bitter cherry, graphite, iron and minerals with just the slightest hint of toasty oak. A bit of green bell pepper and slight floral tones in the background, no doubt due to the cab franc. This has turned out much better than anticipated. Tasted and purchased at "del blotto" four years ago and decided to pop open for a grilled tuscan style porterhouse steak dinner and it went extremely well. The wine is concentrated and focused displaying bitter red cherry and great acidity with a long salivating finish. Could easily last several more years. Well done. **I must say, I really enjoy the 2005 vintage; next to 2001 it's my favorite of last decade. There's definitely a lot of hype around 2007 and 2008 but I just don't get that awesome acidity and tannic grip, at least not with 2007, and the 08's have been all over the place thus far. We shall see.

Solid bottle that's still drinking well. Plenty of fruit. Medium tannins. Alcohol forward initially but very smooth after 48 hrs.
