Wow, very aromatic of crushed cranberries and sour cherry. Kirsch licquour and Kriek lambic aromas as well. Animale and tilled earth, the nose really reminds me of an older Northern Rhone. Medium-bodied and seamless in texture. Almost no apparent tannin. The palate and texture reminds of a Northern Rhone as well. Could this have been "Hermitaged"?? Interesting and quite nice. 89

Medium garnet with significant orange at the edge. Roasted cherries and herb switches on nose. Dead ringer for OLD Chateauneuf. Silky on the palate. A bit light, but with more roasted black cherries and rosemary and thyme switches. Again, DEAD ON for a CdP from the 80's or 90 but perhaps with a bit more freshness. Sanguine notes as well. Drink NOW. 88

Light, clear garnet. Wow, hugely aromatic right off the bat! Loads of pencil lead, charred wood, mint, earth and some black currant fruit. Herbaceous. Medium bodied at best, but not yet dead! Still somewhat fresh, with tangy acidity and some slightly gritty tannin. This is clearly past its prime, but still a delightful drink that is best reserved for a luncheon wine. 87

Extremely peppery with pencil shavings on the nose. It developed into a mushroom and evoked a type of musky forest for me. I didn't hate it, but was really surprised at the taste profile being not so pomerol, but actually much more tannic. My husband did cook a rack of lamb which it did pair well with since it had a pleasantly slight fruit finish. My husband enjoyed it, but it was not my first choice in pomerol. I actually thought it was too expensive for what it was and can definitely find better wines at $39!
