One-hour decant through a screened and aerating funnel. During decant, a moderate aroma of black currant and vanilla sprang forth. Wine was clear; deep ruby with no bricking and a small clear halo. After resting, the nose became more complex: adding bamboo, cloves and leather to the mix. Fruit was fairly deep with the vanilla patently obvious (which told me I drank this wine a bit young). Tannins were softening and the wine was quite a pleasant drink with a grilled steak. Nice long finish of the fruit, vanilla and cloves. I gave this wine as Christmas presents and was curious how it was developing.

I'm a sucker for Paso Cabs, and this one hits all the marks for me.
Cedar, cassis, and black cherry aromas with a sprinkling of cloves, a hint of mint, toasted oak, and nicely integrated, slightly leathery tannins. Full bodied and sumptuous.

Dark fruit and cherry. Very smooth after brief decanting. Glad I bought more.

Beautiful nose with dark cherry and leather. A bit disappointing on the palette, with light vinegar and cherry notes an a chalky mouthfeel.
