  • A youthful looking yellowish colour is impressive for its years. Mature varietal character, vaguely nutty, and the last glass is quite woody. On the whole, the nose is without any distinction for this premium label from this producer. The fullish-bodied palate, however, is very nice and the French barrique is well-restrained. The last glass had a little bite to it, suggesting the wine was breaking-up. This, my last bottle, nr. 04519, was good plus and verified the producer's claim (as set out on the reverse label) that the wine will handle a decade of cellaring.

  • Slightly musty when opened but opened up nicely by the last glass. Nice balance. Citrus notes (grapefruit) in nose and finish. Cork a bit dry but wine itself is not corked. Clearly this has been well kept. At $15 a bottle it is a deal.
