Not that I regularly follow Luca Gardini but when I noticed he rated this one 99, it piqued my interest. Lincoln Fine Wines had a deal where the price was $16/bottle if you bought three or more so I took three. First sip did not wow me in any way. I waited an hour and poured a glass. Still not impressed. It tasted exactly how a $16 Rosso should. So I just reread the review to see if I was missing something and realized it was written by Luca Maroni not Luca Gardini. Who?? I finished the rest of the bottle the next day and it was a shade better.

Strange wine, bittersweet with quite a bit of residual sugar. Tastes a bit liek a non-sparkling Lambrusco. Peculiar.
