  • ABV: 13.5%. I've been a fan of Claiborne and Churchill wines for over a decade and I think they're the best domestic producer for Alsatian varietals. Year after year, they crank out quality wines at reasonable prices, but this 2022 Gewurztraminer is clearly taking things to another level. Upon opening, explosive notes of ripe lychee fruit, fresh rose petals, and white pepper jump out of the glass. The bouquet of this wine is so enticing that it should be made into an air freshner scent! The midpalate has that textbook waxy mouthfeel with ample acidity to lift the fruit and the lingering finish leaves your palate salivating for another sip. This is still a very young wine with a lot of potential and could definitely use a few more years in the cellar for the acid to integrate further with the wine. If you're planning to open your bottle soon, be sure to decant it prior to serving. This Gewurztraminer is absolutely delicious and every Thai restaurant in the country should have it on their wine list!
