This had that wonderful combination of Falkenstein electricity and balance. It burst with lemons, lime leaf and green apples on a deep yet high toned wine with a long lip smacking finish. I actually ended up saving about a third of this bottle and finished it five days later. A lot of the same notes were there, but in a more resolved and slightly less neon way. Notes of lime confit, lemon oil and herbs showed beautifully on a decidedly more mineral palate. It is so fun to start drinking these wines, after visiting the winery last December and tasting a lot of these wines from historic fuder casks in the ancient cellar along side our friends Erich and Johannes Weber and Lars Carlberg. What a great start to my exploration of the 2022 vintage from our beloved Hofgut Falkenstein.

Popped one on a whim with some Nepali food just to see where this is at. Quite a surprise. Really lovely and balanced. Acid did not feel overpowering at all. Consumed over three days and didn't change all that much. I felt a little more sweetness coming through in the latter days, but that just added to the already complex mouthfeel.
I'd give it a couple years, but if you can maybe enjoy one young.
